Few hundred native shrubs planted at Clifford Sonny Belch Park

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 5, 2025 | 6:39 AM

Volunteers helped plant a few hundred native shrubs yesterday on the sides of the new toboggan hill at Clifford Sonny Belch Park.

The Quinte Field Naturalists joined to host their third planting event in the last couple of weeks.

The City of Belleville extends their thanks to the sponsors of the event: Tree Canada, Home Hardware, Bird Friendly City, Rotary Club of Belleville, and Noronco Sheet Metal for helping to enhance the parks, as well as to everyone who helped plant including Home Hardware staff, Girl Guides, Rotarians, Quinte Field Naturalists, and all other community volunteers who came out.

These native shrubs will produce berries and help provide birds, mammals, and insects with food and shelter.
