Dukes fall to Rebellion

By Hailey MacDonald Oct 24, 2025 | 11:56 PM

Two former Wellington Dukes contributed to the King Rebellion’s victory over their old team on Friday night.

Jared McNeil picked up two assists and Ryan Castle added one as part of a 5-2 King win to prolong Wellington’s winless skid.

The Rebellion broke out on top shorthanded seven-and-a-half minutes into the first courtesy of Finn Dineen.

The home side expanded the lead with three goals in the second from Adam Smeeton, Kyle Baston and Nikita Daryavin to chase Royden Smith in favour of Quinte Red Devils U18 call-up Alexandre Beaupre.

The Dukes got a pair back in the third from Evan Erwin and Landon Marleau, who also added an assist, but sandwiched in between was a tally from Jake Mallory.

The Dukes fall to 7-7-1-3 on the season and return home to meet the Pickering Panthers at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
