The Belleville Police Service is proudly welcoming back one of its own from a recent deployment to Latvia.
Cst. Aaron Gauthier has been with the BPS since December 2022 and also serves with the Canadian Armed Forces as the Crew Commander for a medical team as part of Operation Reassurance.
Between January to September of this year, Cst. Gauthier was deployed to Latvia with a CAF-led multinational battlegroup based at Camp Adazi.
Fully integrated with the Latvian Land Forces, this battlegroup included artillery, mechanized infantry, and specialized support units.
Together, they conducted joint training exercises, maintained a strong deterrent presence, and remained prepared to respond to any potential threats.
BPS officials say they are excited and proud to have Gauthier back home.
They note his service reflects the strong connection between policing and military service, where core skills like problem-solving, initiative, and the ability to perform under pressure are essential to both fields.
