By Hailey MacDonald Oct 22, 2025 | 10:10 AM

On Tuesday, October 21st at 8:28pm, Belleville Police responded a residence in the city’s east end regarding a domestic dispute. It was reported that a female was screaming, and a neighbour let the female and her child inside their home for safety.

Upon arrival, officers spoke with the female, who reported that a verbal argument with her partner had escalated into a physical assault, where she was struck several times. When she attempted to leave the residence, she was initially stopped but eventually managed to leave with her child.

Further investigation revealed that the male was in breach of a probation order prohibiting him from contacting the female and requiring him to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. As a result of the investigation, officers located arrested, and charged a 24-year-old Belleville man with:

· Assault

· Forcible confinement

· Fail to comply with probation order X2

He was held for a bail hearing.
