A Belleville man faces several charges after a number of items were removed from trailers in the north end of the city.

On Sunday, October 19th at 3:48pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a break and enter in the city’s north end. It was reported that an unknown male had entered a property and was stealing items from trailers.

At 3:54pm, officers located a suspect, who reportedly attempted to flee while discarding two bags. Police seized several break-and-enter tools and discovered damage to the property’s fence. Further investigation revealed that the male was currently bound by a probation order requiring him to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.

As a result of investigation, Eamon Gunning, 50-year-od Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

· Break and Enter

· Possession of break in instruments

· Theft under $5000

· Mischief under $5000

· Failure to comply with probation order

He was held for a bail hearing.
