$451,000-plus raised for Quinte West healthcare at gala event

The Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation is thrilled to announce that its TMH Stranded in Style – An Evening on Gilligan’s Island Gala, presented by Scotiabank, raised an extraordinary $451,401 net in support of the Emerge Stronger campaign.

The event, held on October 18, 2025, at the Batawa Community Centre, brought together community members for an unforgettable evening of generosity and celebration. Guests enjoyed a delicious three-course dinner by Kaleidoscope Catering, led by Chef Tomas, surrounded by immersive island-themed entertainment – complete with a dramatic thunderstorm that rolled through the entrance and a real SS Minnow on display.

The evening’s remarkable fundraising was powered by an energetic live auction led by expert auctioneer Boyd Sullivan and an inspiring Fund-a-Need session where a very generous donor matched every dollar raised, doubling the community’s impact.

Additional funds came through the 50/50 Raffle—with the winner generously donating the entire prize back to the Foundation—the Online Auction, and the Blue Diamond Necklace and Bulova Watch Raffle, donated by Steve Marshman Fine Jewellery & Custom Design. TMHF Gala Chairs Michelle Mackay & Tina Furmidge commented, “We are absolutely amazed and deeply grateful to our community for rallying behind TMH’s Stranded in Style Gala.

$451,401 net of expenses was raised, which will be invested right into the local hospital.

“Our heartfelt thanks go out to every donor, sponsor, volunteer, and guest. It is your collective commitment that empowers our hospital, and makes this success possible.” Lindsay Butcher Dodds, TMHF Executive Director stated.

“The incredible success of Stranded in Style shows what’s possible when a community comes together with a shared purpose.”

Funds raised will directly support critical priorities at Trenton Memorial Hospital, including the expansion of the Emergency Department, the purchase of vital medical equipment, and the implementation of the new medical information system.
