Two individuals charged with impaired driving in Prince Edward County

Two drivers have been charged with impaired driving in Prince Edward County.

On Saturday, August 30, 2025, around 10:00 p.m. officers with the Prince Edward County Detachment of the OPP responded to the report of a single motor vehicle collision on Consecon Street in Prince Edward County. Officers located the vehicle and the driver and continued their investigation. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to the detachment for further testing.

Harriet MUHARABU, age 25 of Belleville, has been charged with:

Operation while impaired – alcohol
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Fail to remain
Fail to report accident

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, around 1:30 a.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling in Prince Edward County. Officers spoke to the driver of the vehicle and utilized an approved alcohol screening device. As a result, the driver was arrested and transported to detachment for further testing.

Connor Cruickshank, age 25 of Wellington, has been charged with:

Operation while impaired – alcohol
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor
Driver fail to surrender licence

The individuals were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Picton on September 17, 2025.

Their driver’s licences have been suspended for 90 days and their vehicles were impounded for seven days.
