A search warrant in Trenton has resulted in the seizure of dangerous drugs and the arrests of two people.

Earlier this summer, the OPP East Region Community Street Crime Unit began an investigation into drug trafficking in the area.

Officers with the Community Street Crime Unit, assisted by members of OPP Emergency Response Team, the Canine Unit and the Quinte West Detachment, arrested two people in Trenton. The team later executed a search warrant at a residence on Creswell Drive.

During the search of the individuals, officers seized nearly 11 grams of suspected fentanyl and a bottle of prescription methadone which had the patient’s name torn off.

Officers also seized a set of brass knuckles, a replica handgun, over $2,000 in cash, as well as items typically associated with drug trafficking.

Douglas Macgregor, 38 of Quinte West, has been charged with:

Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking – two counts
Traffick in a Schedule 1 substance
Unauthorized possession of a weapon – two counts
Possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order – six counts
Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime
Failing to comply with a probation order

This accused was held in custody with a bail hearing scheduled on Tuesday in Belleville.

Caitlyn Mitchell, 32, of Greater Napanee, has been charged with possession of a Schedule 1 substance.

This accused was release from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on October 6.
