Successful showcase weekend in Frankford

The Frankford Arena was bustling with hockey again over the weekend.

The host Huskies welcomed the Napanee Raiders, Picton Pirates and Clarington Eagles for the ‘Reid’s Dairy Jr. C Preseason Showcase’ this past Saturday and Sunday.

Each team played four times on the weekend in modified two-period games.

The scores and winners are as follows;

Huskies 3 Pirates 0

Eagles 8 Raiders 0

Eagles 4 Pirates 1

Huskies 3 Raiders 1

Huskies 4 Eagles 2

Pirates 6 Raiders 0

Eagles 5 Pirates 2

Huskies 4 Raiders 1

The Raiders will have their home and season opener this Friday at 7:30 p.m. versus the Amherstview Jets.

Frankford opens its season Saturday at home against the Trent Hills Thunder at 7.

The Pirates meanwhile, don’t get going until the 19th against Napanee on the road. Picton’s home opener is September 25 versus the Port Hope Panthers at 7:30 p.m.
