Stolen vehicle at large, woman charged with impaired driving

Belleville Police are asking residents in the city to be on the lookout for a stolen vehicle.

Just before 8 Tuesday morning, it was reported that a grey 2021 Hyundai Elantra was stolen sometime overnight from a Cottonwood Drive residence.

The vehicle bears Ontario license plate SANTYY.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service.

A Plainfield woman will answer to impaired driving charges next month.

A woman driving a vehicle was stopped by Belleville Police officers around 7 p.m. Tuesday and was suspected to be impaired.

As a result of investigation, Ashley Waye, 42, was arrested and charged with driving while impaired and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.

She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.
