Quinte West Fall Giveaway Days happening Oct 18 & 19

By Hailey MacDonald Sep 28, 2025 | 9:35 AM

Declutter and find new-to-you items during Quinte West’s Fall Giveaway Days, happening Oct 18 & 19, ahead of Waste Reduction Week.

All residents are invited to place unwanted household items still in good condition on the curb in front of their homes for others to take. This is a great opportunity to give old items a new life and reduce waste.

How it works:

Place unwanted items curbside for others to take.

Clearly mark items you’re giving away as ‘FREE’.

Bring in any uncollected items by the end of the day on Sunday, Oct 19 to avoid fines from by-law enforcement.

Acceptable items to give away include: DVDs, books, furniture, decor, small appliances, kitchen items, and construction materials, such as hardware, lumber, and drywall.

Ensure to keep items not part of Giveaway Days separate from the giveaway items.

The Consumer Product Safety Directorate of Health Canada advises against including cribs, car seats, strollers, bath seats, and playpens to avoid unsafe use.
