Thomas Kuipers returned to the Trenton Golden Hawks lineup with a flourish on Friday night.

The Carrying Place resident notched a hat trick after returning from the OHL’s Brampton Steelheads in the Hawks’ seventh straight victory, 7-3 over the St. Michael’s Buzzers.

Trenton continued its trend of fast starts, putting five past Erik Maki in the first period and putting the rest of the game in cruise control.

Beckett Ewart added a goal and four points, with Isaiah Shantz, Taeo Artichuk and Jack Ziliotto also finding the net.

Artichuk, Ziliotto, Matt Indovina and Joey Brehmer added two assists each and Candon O’Neill (first point of the season), Shantz, Reed Pettipas and Jaxon Pierce adding single helpers.

Trenton outshot St. Mike’s 59-35, with Finn Wilson making 32 saves.

The Hawks will pay a visit to Pickering at 6:30 Saturday looking to keep up with their outstanding early season play.
