A Belleville man was charged with voyeurism over the weekend following an incident that began with a disturbance involving multiple people.

On September 27th (Saturday) at 6:30pm, Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a report of a disturbance involving five males.

Upon arrival, the parties were separated. Officers spoke to three of the males who were still outside. It was reported that a domestic dispute between one of the males and a female had occurred regarding a video recording. Two additional males passing by confronted the male while the dispute was taking place, which escalated into an altercation involving all five male parties.

Further investigation revealed the male involved in the domestic dispute reportedly recorded his partner without her knowledge.

As a result of investigation, a 44-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with voyeurism. He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in December.

No name was released.
