Assault, yelling at children, pursuit on Belleville Police docket

Here is the Belleville Police release for Monday, September 15th

Assault

On September 13th at 3:32pm, Belleville Police responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance in the city’s east end. Upon arrival, officers spoke with a female who reported that she had been assaulted by a male. As a result, a 43-year-old Belleville man was located, arrested, and charged with:

· Assault

· Uttering threats

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.

Breach of Probation

On September 13th at 7:07pm, Belleville Police responded to a disturbance in the city’s west end following reports of an unknown male yelling at children all day. Upon arrival, officers located a male sitting in the tree line where he continued to shout. Further investigation revealed the male was in breach of a probation order for failing to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. As a result, Shelby Roddick, 31-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with:

· Causing a disturbance

· Failure to comply with a probation order

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.

Arrest Made Following Pursuit

On September 13th at approximately 10:00pm, Belleville Police received an Automatic License Plate Reader hit on a vehicle travelling with unattached plates in the northeast end. When officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed. A pursuit was initiated until the driver lost control of the vehicle. A male exited the vehicle and fled on foot but was arrested shortly after. As a result, Logan Connell, 20-year-old Welland man, was arrested and charged with:

· Dangerous operation

· Flight from peace officer

· Failure to comply with release order

He was also charged under the Highway Traffic act with various offences. He was held for a bail hearing.
