The County of Prince Edward advises residents to not send payments and documents to the municipality by mail during the Canada post service disruption, which began on Friday, Sep 26.
The municipality says residents are still responsible for paying bills, fines, and parking tickets on time during the postal strike.
Tax Payment Options:
The final due date for property tax bills was Sep 15, 2025.
If you still have to make a payment, you can do so in the following ways:
In person at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main St) – The municipality will accept cash, cheque, or debit. Credit card payments will not be accepted.
Online through your financial institution – Log on to your financial bank and choose ‘Add a Payee’, type in ‘Prince Edward’, and then search. Look for some combination of County of Prince Edward and Taxes and then put your entire ROLL NUMBER as your Account Number – include the 4 zeros at the end, but no spaces or dashes in the number sequence.

Water and Wastewater Payment Options:
Water bills for monthly customers in Picton, Hallowell, and Macauley were mailed out on Tuesday, Sep 9. The payment due date is Tuesday, Sep 30.
Water bills for monthly customers in Wellington, Bloomfield, Rossmore/Fenwood, Ameliasburgh/Peats Point, Carrying Place, and Consecon will be available on Wednesday, Oct 15. You can call 613.476.2148 extension 1540 or email waterbilling@pecounty.on.ca for a copy of your bill. The payment due date is Friday, Oct 31.
Bills can be paid the following ways:
In person at Shire Hall (332 Picton Main St) – The municipality will accept cash, cheque, or debit. Credit card payments will not be accepted.
Online through your financial institution. Log on to your financial bank and choose ‘Add a Payee’, type in Prince Edward, and then search. Look for County – Water/Utilities/Public Works – depending on your bank, it will be one of those options. Then entire your entire water account number. Do not include the decimal, but include the two numbers after the decimal (for example 00 or 01).

Electronic Billing:
Property tax and water/wastewater customers can receive their invoices electronically. The electronic bill includes the same information as a paper bill. Billing dates and available payment options remain the same.
If you have a copy of your previous water or tax bill, the instructions and keycode for signing up for e-billing are listed on the back of the paper copy of your previous water of tax bill.
If you do not have a previous paper bill, email waterbilling@pecounty.on.ca or tax@pecounty.on.ca to receive instructions and your unique code for accessing your account.

Parking Tickets / Provincial Offences Payment Options:

Planning, Building, and Licensing Documents:
Do not mail applications, requests, time-sensitive material, or Notices of Appeal for Official Plan Amendments, Zoning By-law Amendments, Draft Plans of Subdivision, Consent Applications, or Minor Variance Applications.
Items can be dropped off at the Development Services counter located on the second floor of the Edward Building (280 Picton Main St) between 8:30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
The postal strike may impact the delivery of statutory notices for land-use planning files. The municipality has mailed notices with key maps to landowners within 500 metres (rural) or 120 metres (urban) of the subject lands that are on the agenda for the Oct 15 Planning and Development Committee meeting. In addition, the municipality has given notice that the CAO will review and approve a minor variance application at 280 Edward Drive (Hillier Ward). The deadline to submit comments in support or opposition of the application is Oct 12, 2025. Click here to view the official notice.
