The City of Quinte West has launched free public Wi-Fi in select parks, public spaces and facilities to help residents and visitors stay connected while enjoying their favourite places and activities across the city.
Public Wi-Fi is available at more than 13 locations throughout Quinte West, including popular destinations like Centennial Park, the Duncan McDonald Memorial Community Gardens and Mount Pelion. A full list of public Wi-Fi locations, along with details on how to connect, is available at quintewest.ca/PublicWifi.
The public Wi-Fi project supports the City’s broader goals to improve municipal connectivity and digital access. Identified as a priority by the City’s Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan, access to free public Wi-Fi contributes to building healthier, more connected communities.
“Launching public Wi-Fi access is another step forward in making Quinte West more connected and accessible for everyone,” says Quinte West Mayor Jim Harrison. “Whether you’re working remotely at the park, attending a City event or just out for a walk, having access to free Wi-Fi helps people stay in touch and informed.”
The City’s public Wi-Fi network ensures a safe and secure user experience by restricting access to explicit or inappropriate content on the network.
The City will continue to promote the availability of public Wi-Fi through seasonal event guides, park directories and social media to help residents and visitors take full advantage of this convenient service.
