Hawks top Smiths Falls in preseason action

By Hailey MacDonald Aug 27, 2025 | 8:22 AM

The Trenton Golden Hawks won the first of two preseason games versus the CCHL’s Smiths Falls Bears 5-1 on Tuesday.

The Hawks spotted Smiths Falls an early goal before rattling off five unanswered.

Jamie Darlison had three points in the victory (two goals and an assist), with Jaxon Broda, Spencer Hughes and Nate Rashotte all scoring as well.

The two teams meet again Thursday at 5 p.m. in Trenton.

Admission is $5 and fans are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to the rink for the Fill-a-Truck Food Drive in support of the Gleaners Food Bank.

The team, in partnership with Lange & Fetter Motors, raised 507 lbs. of food at Sunday’s preseason game versus the Wellington Dukes and is hoping to match or exceed that total on Thursday.
