Belleville woman charged with assault

A Belleville woman was charged with assault following an altercation in the city’s west end on Wednesday night.

Officers with Belleville Police responded to the scene at 9:36 pm, where they were told that a female party was assaulted after a verbal altercation.

As a result of investigation, a 24-year-old Belleville woman was arrested and charged with two counts of assault.

She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in October.

Her name was not released.
