Attempted murder among several charges for Marmora man

Attempted murder and other charges have been laid following a firearms-related incident in Marmora and Lake Township.

Just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, an individual reported that shots had been fired at a home on High Shore Road, near Highway 7.

No serious injuries were reported, and a man was eventually located and arrested by Central Hastings OPP.

Jason Fluke, 46, of Marmora and Lake, has been charged with:

Attempt to commit murder
Discharge a firearm with intent
Careless use of a firearm
Pointing a firearm
Using a firearm while committing an offence
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Careless storage of a firearm
Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
Forcible entry
Break and enter
Theft under $5000
Mischief – destroys or damages property

The accused was held in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for Thursday.

Members of the OPP Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit, along with Central Hastings OPP’s Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services were involved in the search and investigation.
