Impaired driving charges laid in Belleville and Napanee

Lennox and Addington OPP laid impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 401 in Napanee.

Police were called to the crash east of Palace Road at 10 a.m. on Jan. 1.

Tyler Dalton, 28 of Kingston was charged with impaired driving, operating a vehicle with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in his system, careless driving and operating a vehicle without a licence.

Police said he also sustained minor injuries in the collision and the vehicle was impounded.

He was released from custody with a court date of January 21, 2025.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated matter, a 43-year-old Belleville man was charged following a traffic stop on Cannifton Road on Tuesday night.

An officer on general patrol pulled a vehicle over at 7 p.m. and said they observed the driver showing signs of impairment.

After a roadside breath test was completed, James McMullen was charged with impaired operation of a vehicle over 80mgs.

He was released with a court date on January 30.
