UPDATE – 401 reopened between Odessa and Kingston

By Kay Joly Dec 25, 2024 | 9:25 AM

The OPP shut down the 401 between Odessa and Kingston on Christmas Eve.

Tuesday night around 8:30, the OPP posted on X that both the east and westbound lanes were being closed between County Road 19/County Road 6 at Odessa and County Road 38/Gardiners Road in Kingston.

The closure was because of a collision. Posts on social media indicated there may have been as many as three separate crashes.

There was no word on Tuesday night about injuries.

The 401 was completely reopened shortly after midnight (12:15 am Christmas Day).

More information was expected on Wednesday or Thursday.
