The beakers are being cleaned and the display boards are
ready. The 2027 Quinte Regional Science and Technology Fair (QRSTF) has
officially opened its registration portal, inviting students from across the
region to participate in one of Ontario’s longest-running celebrations of
youth STEM achievement.
Scheduled for Saturday, April 10, 2027, at Centennial Secondary School, the
fair promises to be a vibrant showcase of curiosity and critical thinking.
This year marks another chapter in a storied history that has provided a
platform for student research since 1960-a 67-year legacy of fostering
scientific literacy in the Quinte region.
“We are hoping every school in the region will be able to send projects this
year,” said Co-chair of QRSTF, Scott Berry, “It is another year of school
and another year of science, and we want to make sure all students in the
Quinte area in Grades 4-12 have the opportunity to participate.”
The QRSTF organizing committee continues to work with local business,
schoolboards, charities and individuals to cover all registration fees. This
initiative aims to remove economic barriers, ensuring that the fair remains
accessible to all students, regardless of their personal finances. The
organizers expressed deep gratitude to the sponsors whose support makes this
possible.
Beyond the physical event, the QRSTF has expanded its digital footprint.
Students and teachers are encouraged to visit the official website at
www.qrstf.ca to register. The site now hosts a suite of resources designed
to enhance the experience, including interactive puzzles, web tools for
project planning, and comprehensive guides for participants.
The 2027 fair is expected to draw projects spanning a wide array of
disciplines, from environmental science and engineering to health sciences
and computer technology. As the region looks toward the future, the QRSTF
remains a critical incubator for the problem-solvers and innovators of
tomorrow.
Registration is now open, and all interested students are urged to secure
their spot early. For more information, to register, or to explore the
available resources, visit www.qrstf.ca.
