The premier high school soccer talent in the province is heading to the Quinte region. From June 4–6, Belleville will transform into a hub of athletic excellence as it plays host to the 2026 Girls’ AA OFSAA Soccer Championship.
The three-day tournament, hosted by Bayside Secondary School, is expected to bring together roughly 500 athletes and coaches from across Ontario. Matches will be held at three of the region’s premier athletic venues:
- Mary Anne Sills Park
- Zwicks Park
- Loyalist College
This year’s championship features a unique event logo that bridges the gap between Belleville’s past and its future. The design features the iconic Belleville Railway Station (Grand Trunk) as a tribute to the city’s history – a sector instrumental in the founding and economic growth of “The Friendly City”.
“The Hastings County Historical Society applauds this recognition,” said Gary Nicol, President of the Hastings Historical Society. “This logo reminds us that the spirit of connection and progress that built Belleville continues through the teamwork of these young athletes”.
Bayside Secondary School is the proud host of this year’s festivities. For the school community, hosting a provincial championship is about more than just the games; it is about showcasing the hospitality and spirit of the Quinte region.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome the best AA teams in Ontario to our home turf,” said Bayside Principal Michael McKeown. “Our students and staff are working tirelessly to ensure this is a first-class experience for every participant. It’s an honour for Bayside to lead an event that celebrates both sport and our local community”.
Co-conveners Angelo Tsarouhas and Graham Collins have been the driving force behind the logistical feat of organizing the 20-team provincial draw.
“Bringing OFSAA to Belleville is a testament to our world-class facilities and our city’s passion for youth sports,” the conveners said in a joint statement. “We are ready to provide these athletes with a championship environment they will remember for the rest of their lives. We invite the community to come out to the fields, catch the action, and cheer on the next generation of soccer stars”.
