A traffic stop in Belleville on Thursday led to two follow-up searches, a fentanyl seizure and multiple arrests.
Members of the Belleville Police Intelligence and Street Crime Unit conducted a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act investigation that resulted in a motor vehicle stop on Thursday April 9th, 2026, in the area of Ann St. and Dundas St.
As a result of police investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:
Abdullahi Mohamed, 26-year-old Toronto man, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
· Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
· Failure to Comply with Undertaking X2
Shelby Claus, 19-year-old Belleville woman, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
· Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
Following the traffic stop, two drug search warrants were executed in the City of Belleville with the assistance of the Belleville Police K9 and Emergency Response Unit.
As a result of police investigation, the following persons were arrested and charged:
Samantha Lajoie, 20-year-old Belleville woman, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
· Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl
· Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
· Fail to Comply with Probation Order
· Outstanding warrant executed
Michael Gunn, 41-year-old Belleville man, was charged with the following offences and held for a bail hearing:
· Possession for the purpose of trafficking – Fentanyl
· Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
· Fail to Comply with Probation Order
Todd MacDonald, 54-year-old Belleville man, was charged with the following offences and released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in May:
· Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited weapon
The total seizures were:
· 44.2 grams of Fentanyl
· $595 in Canadian currency
· Imitation handgun
· Cell phones
