A Belleville man faces charges after reportedly crashing his car and attempting to flee the scene in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Around 1:45 a.m., a report was made to Belleville Police of a vehicle being seen swerving into oncoming traffic before colliding with a hydro pole in the area of Old Highway 2 and Point Anne Rd.

Upon arrival, the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot, initiating a brief foot pursuit that included jumping over a fence.

The driver was eventually captured and taken into a custody a short distance away.

Following an investigation, Isaac Wing, 21-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:

· Obstruct peace officer

· Operation while impaired – alcohol

· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg.

· Novice driver B.A.C above zero (HTA)

He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in June.
