The Belleville Police Service will host community conversation tables to discuss zone policing framework this month.
In 2026, the Belleville Police Service is introducing a zone policing framework to provide more focused and proactive service across the city. The city has been divided into four zones, developed using comprehensive data analytics, including natural boundaries and call volumes among other key factors.
The new model is designed to help the Belleville Police Service better understand the unique priorities and concerns of each area, enabling a problem-oriented approach to policing. By working in defined zones and focusing on specific issues and patterns, officers can develop targeted strategies to address community needs effectively and prevent recurring problems, while building meaningful relationships.
BPS officials say these open discussions provide residents an opportunity to share ideas, ask questions, and help set priorities for their neighborhoods.
First Conversation Table Dates:
· Zone 2: Parkdale Community Centre | April 23 | 6:30–8:30 PM
· Zone 1: Gerry Masterson Community Centre | April 30 | 6:30–8:30 PM
Follow the Belleville Police Service for updates on additional dates and locations. We look forward to connecting with residents and working together to make our community safer and stronger.
