Fire at business in Belleville’s east end

Belleville Firefighters were out early Friday morning at a fire in the city’s east end.

They responded to a structure fire in a small commercial plaza at 652 Dundas Street East (by Haig Road) shortly before 3 am.

The fire was contained to one unit of the building.

There were no injuries.

There is no word yet on a cause of the fire. An investigator has responded to the scene.

Belleville Police closed Haig Road in that area to assist in the firefighting operation.
