Athlete of the Week: Carson Kay

By Katie Sherratt Mar 13, 2026 | 11:31 AM

Congratulations to Carson Kay, the Cool 100 and Hits 95.5 Athlete of the Week!

Sports: Curling

Team Names: Team MacDougall (Team Ontario)

Carson has played competitive curling for many years. He has also been a league curler at Quinte Curling Club, Land O’Lakes (Tweed), and St Theresa’s High School. Carson has always had to make the commitment to be the out of area team mate, and this season his team played out of the Fergus Curling Club. This team has worked so hard as both individuals and together towards their goal to win the Ontario Provincial Championships, which they did this past weekend in Kitchener. They will represent as Team Ontario in the New Holland Juniors Canadian Championship in Sudbury from March 28 to April 4. He drives to Fergus every Thursday to play in their Thursday night league with his team, at least two weekends a month. The boys are either competing somewhere around the province in the Junior Slam Series or they are practicing together. During the week, you could often find Carson at the Quinte Curling Club whenever there was an open sheet of ice, just throwing rock after rock to perfect his performance.
