Local youth athletes were the big winners last weekend thanks to a charity hockey game.

Last Saturday, the Tyendinaga Police Service and the Mohawk Fire Department faced off in Deseronto, raising more than $3,270 was raised to support local youth sports in Tyendinaga.
The proceeds will be shared between the Tyendinaga Thrashers – who are heading off next week to represent the Tyendinaga Mohawk community at the annual LNHL Hockey Tournament and the Tyendinaga Minor Lacrosse Association – helping support the next generation of lacrosse players in the community.
Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte officials extended a huge thank you to all volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who came out to support the event.
