Five local cheerleaders from Pegasus Cheer have earned invitations to represent the Quinte region at a national event later this month.
The athletes qualified for the Cheer Challenge Cup Nationals after strong performances at Cheer Challenge Canada events earlier this season.
Invitations are awarded to athletes who place in the top two of their division at one of three qualifying competitions.
The following Pegasus Cheer athletes received invitations to compete:

Olivia Bolton – U16 Level 3, ages 12 to 16 – Extreme Chill

Olivia Moore – U8 Level 1, ages 5 to 8 – Beast of the East

Kaelynn Whyte – U12 Level 1, ages 8 to 12 – Beast of the East

Aaralynn Ford – U12 Level 2, ages 8 to 12 – Beast of the East

Grace Freeland – Open Level 1, ages 16+ – Beast of the East
This marks the first year Cheer Challenge Canada has extended invitations to specialty divisions such as Individual (Indy) and Duo athletes, making it a unique opportunity for athletes competing outside traditional team divisions.
The event takes place March 27-29 in Blue Mountain, Ontario.

The Cheer Challenge Cup Nationals brings together Novice, Prep, All Star, and Specialty athletes from across Ontario, giving competitors the opportunity to showcase their skills in front of judges and spectators at one of the province’s top cheerleading events.
