UPDATE: Belleville Fire crews investigated a structure fire that occurred in a single-family dwelling located on South John St.
In a release from the Belleville Fire and Emergency Services Fire Prevention Division, firefighters responded swiftly to the scene and contained the blaze to an area within the kitchen.
The home was occupied at the time of the fire, and all occupants managed to exit the structure safely.
Damage to the house is estimated at approximately $80,000.
Fire prevention officials remind community residents if they are going to be using additional heating appliances such as space heaters, make sure to follow the manufacturers recommendations regarding clearances to combustibles and never leave them unattended.

Belleville fire crews are on the scene of a house fire in the city.
The call reportedly came in around 11:20 a.m. at the 100 block of South John St.
The area is blocked off by Belleville Police as firefighters continue to battle the blaze.
Everyone is reportedly accounted for, but one woman sustained a minor injury that was being taken care of by Hastings-Quinte Paramedics.
Investigators are on scene and will determine a cause when the fire is put out.
