UPDATE:

A Special Weather Statement is now on the menu for the entire Quinte region today.

Environment Canada has put the statement out calling for 5 to 10 centimetres through the day, ending potentially later this afternoon or in the evening.

There will be reduced visibility at times, so the national weather agency is asking drivers to again prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions and allow extra time for travel.

Originally, only the North Hastings region had a special weather statement out earlier today before it was activated for the rest of the Quinte region later this morning.

ORIGINAL STORY

Northern parts of the Quinte Region will get a heavier dose of winter weather on Tuesday.

Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for North Hastings (Bancroft).

Most parts of the Quinte Region are expecting between 2 and 4 cm of snow on Tuesday.

In and around Bancroft, snowfall amounts could reach 5 to 10 cm, with reduced visibility at times in heavy snow.

Snow is expected to begin this morning and ending this afternoon or evening.

Drivers are advised to prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions and allow extra time for travel.
