The OJHL’s 100-point club has a new member.
Taeo Artichuk achieved a three-point night to become the first Golden Hawk to reach the milestone in a 7-4 triumph over the Georgetown Raiders on Tuesday night.
The 20-year-old from Ajax took a Jamie Darlison pass from behind the net after an Andrew Wycisk cycle, burying his 35th goal of the season past Raiders goalie Luke Quinn on the powerplay to hit the century mark.
Coming into the game with 97 points and fresh off earning the most all-time single season points milestone, Artichuk assisted on the first two Hawks goals from Mason Musclow and Jack Ziliotto to get Trenton ahead in the first.
Georgetown fought back to take the lead on unanswered goals from James Proctor, Frank Lecce and Vince Albanese, but Trenton managed to recover to take a 5-3 into the second intermission.
Darlison stuck home the tying marker (24th of the season), with the Hawks taking a lead just two minutes later.
The team broke up a play at the Georgetown line, with Daylen Moses sending Kale Mace and Thomas Kuipers in on an odd-man rush that was finished by the Trenton captain for his 12th of the season.
Wyatt Gregory added an insurance marker before Artichuk’s history-making tally at the 2:36 mark of the third.
#6 for the Golden Hawks became the third player in the decade after Belleville native Trevor Hoskin (100 in 2023-24 for Cobourg) and Tyler Fukakusa (105 in 2022-23 for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens) to top the 100-point mark in the OJHL.
Candon O’Neill added one more for good measure before Brayden Hartlieb rounded out the scoring for Georgetown.
Hayden Jeffery made 30 saves as Trenton outpaced the Raiders in shots 58-34 to win its seventh in a row.
Next opponent will be a big one, as the Hawks take a quick jaunt to visit the arch-rival Wellington Dukes on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Lehigh Arena.
