Two local property managers are celebrating a huge lottery win.
Daniel Asti of Frankford and Terry Istead of Trenton can realize their dreams after winning a $500,000 MAXMILLIONS prize in the December 26, 2025 LOTTO MAX draw. Their ticket was one of two that split a $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize.
The winning ticket was purchased at Frankford Variety and Laundromat on Mill Street in Frankford.
The pair of property management coworkers said they’ve been playing the lottery together since 2018.
“I checked the ticket on the OLG app the morning after the draw, but I didn’t have my glasses on, so I asked my wife to take a look at the screen,” Daniel shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect their winnings. “She was overjoyed and started jumping up and down.”
Daniel broke the exciting news to Terry right away. “I didn’t believe him at first,” Terry recalled with a laugh. “I said, ‘Are you kidding me?’ Then I told my wife and daughter-in-law. They were so happy for me.”
“It’s a great feeling to win big after playing together for so long,” Daniel said with a smile. “This prize will help make both our lives a bit more comfortable,” Terry added.
Daniel plans to put his portion of the windfall toward his children’s education, while Terry looks forward to taking a trip to the Dominican Republic. “I want to enjoy life to the fullest,” Terry concluded.
