Eight people injured in bus crash on eastbound 401 near Napanee

Eight people were taken to the hospital following a crash involving a bus on the eastbound 401 in the Napanee area on Sunday night.

The crash happened in the eastbound lanes around 7:15 pm. The bus reportedly had 50 people on board.

Lennox and Addington OPP posted the following notice shortly after 8 pm.

ROAD CLOSURE: #Hwy401 is closed eastbound between County Rd 4 and County Rd 6 east of #Napanee due to a single vehicle collision involving a coach bus. No serious injuries reported among passengers. Slippery road conditions are being reported in the area. 

They later updated on social media that eight people were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The eastbound lanes of the 401 were closed for just under 3 hours, reopening shortly after 11 pm.
