Belleville man charged in sexual assault investigation

A Belleville man has been charged in a sexual assault investigation.

Belleville Police began looking into the case in the early morning hours of February 6th.

Throughout the investigation it was learnt that the alleged victim met the suspect through an online dating app.

On February 7th, members of the Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigation Division and Emergency Response Unit executed a search warrant at a residence in the city’s east end.

As a result, Danny Arsenault, 46yearold Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:

Sexual assault with a weapon
Unauthorized possession of a weapon
Assault
Forcible confinement

He was held for a bail hearing.

Police are concerned that the suspect may have been engaging with other individuals online and may have more victims who have yet to come forward. Possible victims or
