Staff at Collins Bay Institution were busy over the last week or so.
Between February 3 and 9, 2026, packages containing contraband and unauthorized items were seized at the multi-level security federal institution in Kingston.
The items seized included tobacco, marijuana, “shatter” (cannabis concentrate) and hashish.
The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is approximately $233,630.
The Correctional Service of Canada uses a number of tools to prevent drugs from entering its institutions.
These tools include ion scanners and detector dogs to search buildings, personal property, inmates, and visitors.
