OLG issues third quarter payment to Belleville

Belleville has received another large payment for hosting Shorelines Casino.

RELEASE – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make the third quarter (October 1 – December 31) payment totaling $745,728 to the City of Belleville for hosting Shorelines Casino Belleville.

So far, during OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026), Belleville has received $2,371,290. Since the gaming site opened in January 2017, Belleville has received $24,694,875.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is consistently applied across all land-based casino sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

“Year after year, a share of the revenue from Shorelines Casino Belleville through OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement has been an important source of funding for Belleville helping to deliver vital services and helping to enhance the quality of life of local residents,” said Tyler Allsopp, Member of Provincial Parliament for Bay of Quinte. “Host communities benefit from their share of local casino revenue, while all Ontarians benefit from OLG’s gaming revenues, as 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in communities across the province.”

Since 1994, host communities have received almost $2.4 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.

Over the past nine years, service providers have invested more than $2.9 billion in private sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos; two large-scale resort developments and expansions; many gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.
