An impaired charge was laid following a crash in Belleville on Thursday night.

On December 4th at 10:26pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of a suspected impaired driver. It was reported that a single-vehicle collision had occurred, after which a male exited the vehicle, threw an empty bottle of alcohol, and attempted to hide at the scene. Upon arrival, the male was being assessed by EMS and was observed to be extremely confrontational. During the investigation, officers seized two extendable batons from the vehicle.

As a result, Brent Naylor, 45-year-old Belleville man, was arrested and charged with:

· Operation while impaired – alcohol

· Failure or refusal to comply with demand

· Possession of a prohibited device for a dangerous purpose

He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in January.
