Lennox and Addington County OPP have charged a person with several criminal and provincial charges following an attempted traffic stop.
Tuesday morning around 11 a.m., L&A County OPP members were performing traffic enforcement on County Road 1 in Stone Mills Township when they attempted to stop a vehicle travelling westbound at more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.
The driver fled the scene at a high rate of speed, but officers managed to stop the vehicle just east of Napanee and arrest a driver.
Olivia Veley, 20, from Stone Mills, was charged with flight from peace officer, dangerous operation, stunt driving, operating a motor vehicle without insurance and driving a vehicle – no currently validated permit
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Napanee Court on December 16.
Their driver’s licence was suspended for 30 days, and their vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
