Impaired charge laid after vehicle pulled over on 401 in Tyendinaga

Lennox and Addington County members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a person with impaired driving related charges overnight.

On Monday November 17, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., L&A County OPP members were advised of a traffic complaint involving a possible impaired driver travelling westbound on Highway 401 in the City of Kingston. The vehicle was located on Highway 401 in Tyendinaga Township, and following an investigation, the driver was arrested.

Gemma DEAL, a 22-year-old from Ottawa, was charged with:

Operation while impaired – drugs
Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available
Speeding
Possess illegal licence

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Greater Napanee on December 16, 2025. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
