Campbellford woman charged in violent dispute

A domestic dispute turned violent in east-end Belleville on Saturday.

Officers received a report about a verbal argument between a man and a woman escalating and the woman reportedly smashing two coffee cups, then attempting to choke the man.

It was also reported that the woman struck the man in the back with a broom handle.

A 33-year-old Campbellford woman was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm

She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in December.
