Couple breathes new life into Belleville Tirecraft

By Katie Sherratt May 4, 2024 | 7:00 PM

Careening around a 1/3 mile clay oval at high speeds Justin Ramsay learned the importance of having reliable equipment between him and the road.

Ramsay is now bringing over 20-year experience as a licensed tire technician and multi-championship-winning dirt car racer into the consumer arena along with the love of his life in a joint venture.

He and his wife Shelby Ramsay opened a new chapter for Belleville Tirecraft when they bought it in January.

With the Belleville natives’ new shared vision for the shop at Dundas Street West off and running, the business has been booming.

“It’s always been a passion,” Justin Ramsay smiled.  “I have always worked on things.  When I was a kid I would take my bike apart for no reason and put it back together.  I was the kid in the neighbourhood that people would bring their bikes to and I would fix them.”

Now he and his team are “here to fix everything.”

“We do more than just tires,” he said.  “We do everything imaginable.  I want a shop where everybody wants to come to and where the service is good.  Word of mouth is huge.”

The Ramsays’ business philosophy is centered on providing quality customer service and valuing their staff’s hard work.

To turn Tirecraft into a full-service facility for every tire and mechanical need, Ramsay hired more experienced mechanics and tire specialists.

He doubled the number of hoists from three to six and invested in new equipment allowing Tirecraft to offer a wide range of services including custom exhaust work, rust check, oil changes, suspension, alignments, brakes, road force wheel balancing, tire sales and more.

“If you have an issue with your car we are your one-stop shop,” he said.  “You don’t need to go anywhere else.”

To book an appointment call (613) 966-5722, visit the shop at 30 Dundas Street West in Belleville or book online by clicking here.
