Construction will begin in two weeks which will have a definite impact on traffic flow on the eastbound 401 through Belleville.
R.W. Tomlinson Limited (RWT) has been engaged by the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) for the execution of work under Contract number 2023-4009.
Work on this contract includes grading, drainage, granular base, hot mix paving, non-structural culvert replacement and rehabilitation, and electrical work on Hwy 401 from Hwy 37 to 0.2km east of Wyman Road.
RWT will begin construction April 9th, 2024 with sign and barrel placement throughout the construction zone. Work will continue into late November 2024.
During this time, the following types of traffic control can be expected at various locations throughout the contact limits:
• Lane Shifts
• Nighttime Lane Closures
• Daytime Shoulder Closures
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times and given priority when passing through the work zone.
