Officials with the Belleville Police Service say the discovery of a man’s body on Tuesday near Victoria Park is not considered suspicious.

Police, Belleville Firefighters, and Hastings Quinte EMS all responded to the scene around 2:30 pm.

Fire Department officials say the call came in as a marine incident.

Belleville Police say an adult male was located in the water deceased a short time later.

The incident is not considered suspicious, and since there is no criminal investigation, the name of the man will likely not be released.

Crews cleared the scene shortly after 5 pm.
