UPDATE – Police investigation concludes in Trenton

The investigation has concluded following a police investigation involving armed officers in Trenton on Thursday.

Late in the morning, multiple units with Quinte West OPP (including the Emergency Response Team) responded to the Guest Inn Motel on Dundas Street East.

They were asking people to avoid the area but the investigation wrapped up and police cleared the scene shortly after 2 pm.

Quinte West OPP have released the following statement on the incident.

“Police responded to a weapons call but were unable to substantiate the complaint that was made and through investigation, we believe that there was never a risk to public safety.”

The investigation has now concluded.
