Failing to stop in QW results in charges against Ottawa man

By InQuinte.ca Staff Mar 13, 2023 | 11:05 AM

An Ottawa man faces charges after he failed to stop for police on Sunday.

OPP were patrolling Highway 401 in Quinte West around 11:30 a.m. when an officer tried to pull over a truck that was too small for the large trailer it was towing.

The driver eventually stopped in Cramahe Township and officers from Quinte West and Northumberland OPP arrested the driver without further incident.

An investigation determined that the trailer had been reported as stolen — a small quantity of drugs was also recovered.

  • 59-year-old Pierre Aubin faces charges that include:

— Flight From A Peace Officer

— Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5000

— Possession of Schedule 1 Substance (x2)

— Operating An Unsafe Vehicle

— Driving While Under Suspension

Aubin is scheduled to appear in a Belleville court on April 24.
